NSWF Egg Section 2024 Annual General Meeting

NSW Farmers' Egg Committee invites all NSW Egg producers to attend the NSW Farmers' Egg Section Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Sydney. The meeting will be held adjacent to NSW Farmers Annual Conference which will be held 23 & 24 July.

The event details are:

  • Date: Monday, 22 July 2024
  • Time: 11:30am - 1:30pm (morning tea and registration from 11am, followed by lunch at 1:30pm)
  • Location: Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, Rosehill NSW

The purpose of the Egg Section AGM is to:

  • Elect representatives for the NSW Farmers Egg Section Committee, and
  • Determine NSW Farmers Egg Commodity Policy

The Egg Section Committee unites, represents, and provides leadership to egg members, both within the Association and externally, on matters relating specifically to the egg industry. All members and non-members with aninterest in the egg industry are welcome and encouraged to attend the Egg Section AGM. Financial members of the Association with a declared interest are eligible to attend and vote at the AGM.

Registration is essential and to do so, please use the button below. A Zoom link will be emailed shortly after to allow those to join the AGM online if unable to attend in person.

Election of the Egg Committee

Under the By-Laws passed at the 2018 AGM, the election process for the Committee must be completed prior to the AGM. The By-Laws also state that the NSW Farmers Egg Committee is to comprise six financial members of the Association. In the event that there are more than six nominations, a ballot must be held.

Members are reminded that under the Egg Producer Section By-Laws, only producers compliant with the Laying Fowl Cage Regulations, as amended from time to time, are eligible for election to the Committee. Compliance is to be verified by providing proof of Egg Standards of Australia (ESA), or providing written confirmation of compliance from the RSPCA NSW, or providing written confirmation from a third-party auditor of compliance with the RSPCA NSW – Poultry Inspection Checklist. Members who are nominated or elected to the Committee have one month from the AGM to provide this information or can do so at the time of nomination.

Motions

Members can submit motions for the determination of egg industry policy at the meeting. Acceptance of motions opens today, 27 May 2024 and close 5pm, Monday, 1 July 2024 (after four weeks).

If you would like to submit a motion for discussion, please submit via the button below.

Late motions for the Egg Section Annual General Meeting will be considered at the AGM at the discretion of the Chair.
