Young Branch - Weed Management Update

Young Branch - Weed Management Update
NSW Farmers Young Branch invites members and guests to a meeting about the current management of Weeds in the Hilltops Council area.

Since the introduction of the Biosecurity Act in 2015, roles and responsibilities surrounding weed management and consequences of general biosecurity duty are still not clear for many landholders and managers.  The Strategic Weed Management Plan is managed by a Regional Weeds Committee administered by the Riverina LLS, and which has a representative position for NSW Farmers.

Hilltops Council has the responsibility for administration and enforcement of the Biosecurity Act as it relates to weeds in the Council area, and will be attending the meeting to discuss Council’s current management plans and operations.

Invited guests include:

Neil McIntosh and Tom Pickering – Biosecurity Weeds Inspectors, Hilltops Council
Megan Wyllie and Tammy Galvin – Invasive Species Coordinators, South East and Riverina Local Land Services respectively

Please RSVP here, so that we can prepare the room accordingly.  Dinner is available to purchase from the Bowling Club restaurant.
